Leadership Roles

For my leadership roles I have been doing Pals, Rough Play, Librarian and B-bois. I have been reminding people to turn up to their jobs on time and I have been turning up to my job on time. I have been helping out in the library by putting books away, if it gets to loud I will tell people to be quiet and I stamp/scan books if I need to. For pals I set up the game about 5-10 minutes before it starts and I do it by myself because my partner waits till it it starts. In rough play I try my best and seek out ways to do better. I also cheer on people when they are trying to get through the people that are in. For B-bois I helped start it up because the organisers didn't start it up and I wanted to so I started it.

Leadership role (pals)

For pals (pals is where you run activities for younger kids) Brad and I ran a game called tricky tag. Tricky tag is where everyone is in and you have to tag people. If you tag someone and they tag you at the same time then you do paper scissors rock to decide who sits down. To get back up you have to wait for the person who tagged you to get tagged and then you are back up so you can play again.

Term 2 Reflection

In reading my goal was find select and retrieve information and I think I did good because I didn't have trouble when I was answering the questions. My new reading goal is use reference materials, eg dictionary, thesaurus and atlas.


In maths my goal was times decimal equations and I think I did good because I got most questions right and I did them easily.


In writing in writing my goal was write an explanation and I found it hard to do my first one but then after doing one it was easy to do another one. My next step is to put commas in my writing when I write and not after I write because it takes me a while to go through an put commas in my writing.

Consumers and businesses both have rights, if businesses don't follow these rights they will lose customers and money. I'm going to explain how businesses lose customers, how businesses lose trust in manufactures and how customers lose time.

Businesses  can lose customers in a few different ways and not only does it lose money it can give them a bad name. One of the ways to lose customers is to always sell faulty/broken items. Another way is to mislead customers a lot, (this means giving false information to customers). For an example say you bought an item and it was faulty so you took it back and you got another faulty item you might stop shopping there.


Trust is important for businesses and manufactures. Manufactures have to keep trust by not continuously making faulty items and make/deliver products on time. Every business they lose is very costly, which believe it or not is a lot more than you would think. For an example a business said to someone come back tomorrow and and we will have this item and then the manufacturer didn't deliver the item on time the business wouldn't trust the manufacturer.


Time is one thing you can't get more of and when you continuously have to take items back you lose a lot of time. If businesses make you take a lot of items back you will lose time and might stop shopping there. Consumers can also lose time by getting misled and having to sort out the problem. For an example you were mislead and you went to the shop to sort it out and they were busy so you had to wait.


These are the effects of when a business or consumer does not meet their responsibilities.

Consumer Rights

Walt describe the rights and responsibilities of consumers and businesses.

We did a story pyramid about this story. A story pyramid is when you right 1-8 words about the story eg number 4 was 4 words describing the problem in the story.
My next step is make more words descriptive.

Integrated learning

In integrated learning we have been learning about consumer rights.
We did an activity with bubbles where we each had 1.50 and there were tools and detergent with water and some had more water and less detergent.

Reading


In reading we did a work sheet called Cold Water Survival about how to survive in the water.
After reading the article we did an activity with some questions about the article.

My Recount

As we got on the bus I started writing excited (not for the bus ride). After a few hours we stopped and had morning tea at a old train station. After Danny, Tom and I ate we started jumping across the train tracks and that was quite easy. Then we went on the bus for a few hours until we got to Wainui. 


I was happy when we got to Wainui because I didn't vomit. The teachers said there was a big walk to get there but it was short. When we got to the top we had lunch and talked to our friends. Then we went inside our rooms to put our luggage away. Then else went to the common room to talk about what room is what and our activities. 


After getting changed for coastearing my group went to the coastearing place. Lowering ourselfs down with a rope was fun and then I saw the water and it looked cold but fun. When I got it in it was fun walking/swimming around the rocks then we found a rock to jump off which I did. When I jumped off the rock and landed in the water I swam and swam in the water and jumped of the rock until we had to go.

Term 1 Reflection

I think this term has gone quite well. I think that me browns learning style is really helping me with my learning. I also like the change in fitness because we don't just play games and we run or do push ups, lunges and rats and rabbits to help us improve our cardio.

Te Reo

In Maori I have been learning my Mihi. Next time I will take more time when I learn it.



Intergrated Learning

In intergrated learning I have been making a poster about body parts and this is mine. Next time I will put more colour and information on it.

In art we have been making a black and white painting with one main colour. Next time I will make it more detailed.
